PNTG 334 Chinese Painting
Prerequisite: PNTG 203 or PNTG 206
PNTG 734 Chinese Painting
This course is open to students in any major.
This class encourages students to
explore different cultures, to learn the techniques of Chinese brush painting,
and to study the philosophy and concept of Chinese art.
The goal of study of Chinese
Painting is to tackle the Chinese traditional subjects from a contemporary art
viewpoint, emphasizing to some extent and depth pictorial concepts and
practical aspects of the painting process. Personal exploration, including
media, technique and format, is wide open and encouraged for every student.
· Qualify for Scholarship.
$1000.00 Josh Yu Chinese Painting Scholarship will be awarded to two students in PNTG 334 or PNTG 734 Chinese Painting based on work completed in the course.
· Receive
specialized materials.
Students in the course will receives
some free art supplies.

Exhibition experience.
Student work will be shown in the 18th
annual “Bridge” exhibition.
