Community Education Teaching Opportunity for SCAD MFAs and Alumni

This would be a great opportunity for MFAs and Alumni to get more teaching experience on their resume. Compensation is $20/ per hour of instruction and the dates for the courses are listed below:

FALL DATES:

MINI-CLASSES SECTION I 9/14 – 10/9

7 IN ATL, 7 IN SAV

Classes will meet in the evening, 4 weeks, 2.5 hours each week

MINI-CLASSES SECTION II 10/19 – 11/13

7 IN ATL, 7 IN SAV

WORKSHOPS 9/19, 2/26, 10/17, 10/24, 11/14, 11/21

12 IN SAV, 12 IN ATL

Most workshops will remain on the weekend.

EDUCATOR MINI-FORUMS 11/20 - 21 & 12/4 – 6

1 IN SAV, 1 IN ATL

We are hoping to have workshop/course proposals by July 2nd. Instructor interviews will take place the following week. Please contact Ai-Ling Chang in Admissions for more information.

Photography Alumna Seeking Assistant For Established Wedding Photography Business

Photography Alumna Jessica Purvis is relocating her established, wedding photography business from Atlanta to Savannah. She is looking for an assistant to shoot, do post production, and assist with album design. All candidates should be able to make a 1 year commitment to the position. Jessica will be in Savannah in early July from the 4th - 14th, and would like to meet with interested students or recent grads.

Fly Over the Marsh by Junko Muta





















Desotorow presents, "Fly Over the Marsh," an exhibition of photographs by Junko Muta.

"Over the last 2 years I have watched the marsh from my apartment window, everyday, with my different emotions. The marsh view was always there for me and healed my mind. I stand in my room, and my mind flies over the marsh. I am about leaving this apartment. These images are a record of my emotions." - Junko Muta

The exhibit runs from July 3 - 8, 2009 in Truspace. The opening reception is on July 3, 2009 from 5 - 9 pm and is a part of the Starland Arts District First Friday Events.

Alexia Foundation - Photojournalism grants for students.

This sounds like a great opportunity and you get to go work in London!

Introduction to the Student Competition Rules

The Alexia Foundation offers helps to provide the financial ability for students to improve their knowledge and skills of photojournalism and to increase their own knowledge and understanding of other cultures by providing scholarships to study photojournalism at Syracuse University in London, England.

The Foundation also provides cash grants to enable student photographers to have the financial ability to produce a picture story that furthers the Foundation's goals of promoting world peace and cultural understanding.
