Garden & Gun is looking for a qualified intern to join our photography department. This is a full- time internship position for someone who is interested in photography as it relates to magazine publishing. This internship will offer hands-on real world experience in the day-to-day operations of a national magazine’s photography department and offer the opportunity to work with award-winning photographers and creatives in the industry.

The Intern will learn and implement all aspects of magazine photography including, but not limited to, producing photo shoots and call sheets, image research, location scouting, developing website and social media content, photography for certain magazine columns, assisting on photo shoots, attending photo strategy meetings, maintaining photo archives, and coordinating photo credits and credits. In addition, the Intern will manage photo production tasks such as preparing props, sets and equipment for upcoming shoots.

The ideal candidate has excellent communication skills, is very organized and detail oriented, able to prioritize and adhere to deadlines, and is a team player. The ability to multi task is key as well as being comfortable with tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment. The candidate should also be a self-starter, motivated, and able to work independently. Must be proficient in Photoshop and Adobe Creative Cloud and a working knowledge of video editing a plus.

The G&G photography department looks forward to collaborating with our intern and providing the opportunity to be a part of a national magazine team.

This internship runs September–December. College graduate preferred. Must have own transportation. The G&G internship is focused on educational enrichment of the intern and is compensated through a small monthly stipend.
