Get Directions >
The SCAD exhibitions department presents "American Byway: Selections from US Highway 80," a solo exhibition by SCAD professor and photography chair Rebecca Nolan. This body of work focuses on elements of the bypassed areas of rural America from coast to coast. Highway 80 is an interstate that was made obsolete due to construction of the modern freeway. Subsequently, the townships and various populated areas along this route have been neglected. Nolan’s understated photos capture delicate elements of a time and places passed by, remains of an America seemingly so far gone, yet still so near.
Presented as part of 2014 deFINE ART program, Feb. 18-21

  • Monday-Friday, 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
  • Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Girl: Continued… The Legacy of Francesca Woodman

SCAD photographers
Dec. 21, 2013 - April 6, 2014
The SCAD Museum of Art presents "Girl: Continued…,"  the first exhibition in a series that highlights a work from the permanent collection by an artist whose influence has greatly impacted the artistic practices of SCAD professors and alumni.
In this instance, the late yet extremely influential American photographer Francesca Woodman’s photograph "Talking to Vince" serves as a focal point presented alongside seven SCAD artists’ pieces. This curatorial approach showcases Woodman’s legacy and her impact on future generations of photographers. The exhibited photographs share a kinship with Woodman’s ethereal style and her haunting manipulation of the female body in both portraiture and self-portraiture.
Artists include:
  • Deanne Andrus, M.F.A., photography, 2013, B.F.A., photography, 2010
  • Sandrine Arons, M.F.A. photography student
  • Lauren Hughes, B.F.A., photography, 2010

Should your award notification or prize be returned as undeliverable, NYC4PA will not resend the notice (whether by the same or another method,) research your address nor make any further attempts at delivery, and your submission will be deemed ineligible. Please be careful when entering all your contact information.

NYC4PA prefers to remit cash awards through a PayPal transfer. If you do not have a PayPal account to which we can remit your award, please contact us for alternate arrangements.  Plese note there are fees associated with electronic transfer that PayPal will deduct from the prize total.
