Landfall call for submissions

The SCAD exhibitions department invites SCAD students, professors, staff and alumni to submit entries for the 2015 summer sales exhibition “Landfall.” The exhibition seeks work from SCAD artists working in the landscape genre, and pieces that engage with environmental issues, mapping, cityscapes and the natural world are welcome. The title “Landfall” also suggests a first encounter or arrival, and works that take this into consideration are acceptable, as are submissions that celebrate the majesty and beauty of local and international landscapes.

The Landfall call for submissions welcomes artists making work from a variety of disciplines including but not limited to painting, photography, sculpture, fibers, film/video, animation, drawing and printmaking.

Deadline for submissions: Sunday, May 3
Exhibition dates: Gutstein Gallery, June 15 - Sept. 5
Entries will be accepted only online. Incomplete submissions will not be considered. Please note that no email entries will be accepted.  Please include the following information for each entry:
  • Images of individual works with image files titled to match the works' title. Images must show completed work, and images of 2-D work must incorporate the frame if the work is framed.
  • Word document containing name, mailing address, email address, phone number, current SCAD status (e.g., M.F.A. painting student), with a checklist of works submitted that includes title of work, medium, dimensions, year and artist price. Please note that for professors, alumni and staff, artist price is marked up 50 percent and 30 percent for matriculated students.
  • A word document résumé or CV including artist exhibition history, separated into group and solo shows, and awards and honors. Do not include contact information or graphics.
Send an email to Chris Constas with any questions. Entries will be reviewed and selected artists will be notified in a timely fashion.
