Project Students will each develop a visual piece to create a special guest experience for
Description
Libery Mutual Insurance (LMI) during LMI’s Legends of Golf events (April 22-27). Students will present one work in the form of a 2D (painting, drawing, printmaking or photography), 3D or digital art highlighting an experience, culture or setting unique to Savannah.
Selection Distinctive Savannah setting, culture or experience 30 points
Criterion
Overall aesthetic delivery of artist’s vision 30 points
Linkage to corporate values or brand of LMI 20 points
Use of Lady Liberty (in respectful and dignified manner) 10 points Incorporation of golf element 5 points
Use of humor 5 points

Specification Dimensions up to 24”x28” (horizontal or vertical)
Options
3D works must not to exceed 3’ in height or width and 40 pounds in weight *Digital works must be emailed to mhkim@scad.edu in advance (April 13th, 8am)

Logistics Start : Friday, April 12 at 9am End : Saturday, April 13 at 2pm
Location : Adler Hall (Kick-off and Mid-point Review), Museum (Final Presentation) Student 20-30 entries.
Participation
The Challenge will be open to all SCAD junior, senior, and graduate students and alums.
Awards 1st Prize : $1,000 2nd Prize : $750
3rd Prize : $500
All participants will receive complimentary tickets to attend LMI’s Lonestar concert on Friday, April 26th at the Westin Hotel.

Schedule Friday April 12th
4/12 – 9am-10am : Participant check-in (*All members of a team must be present with SCAD IDs) 4/12 – 10am-11am : Design Challenge Kick-Off / Adler Hall
4/12 – 11am-5:30pm : Student begin concepting, preliminary design & implementation (on own) 4/12 – 5:30pm-8:30pm : Mid-point Reviews / Adler Hall

*Each team will be assigned a 5 minute time slot
Saturday April 13th
4/13 – 10am-12:30pm : Final presentation / SCAD Museum of Art

*Each team will be assigned a 5 minute time slot
Presentations will take place in upstairs classrooms
4/13 – 12:30pm-1:30pm : Reception / Judges deliberate / SCAD MoA Lobby

Open to all Design Challenge competitors
4/13 – 1:30pm-2pm : Announcement of Winners / SCAD MoA Auditorium

* RESEARCH ABOUT LIBERTY MUTUAL INSURANCE AND LEGENDS OF GOLF TOURNAMENT, AND CONCEPT DEVELOPMENT PRIOR TO THE KICK-OFF PRESENTATION IS HIGHLY ENCOURAGED.
