Part-time Job Opportunities in NYC

INTERNATIONAL CENTER FOR PHOTOGRAPHY BOOKSTORE: (recent graduate preferred)
The person would typically work 2-3 days (one of the days must be on one of the weekend days), from 10-6:30PM and of course there are perks for working here. If you work for ICP, you can access the digital and conventional labs for free. (In the digital lab you have to pay for prints but trust me its cheap! No one wants to pay for lab time in this expensive city...) The other thing is trust me when I say that it's not a bad place to start your networking. We've had lots of well known photographers come through including Amy Arbus, Zana Briski, Elliot Erwitt, Bill Burke, Misty Keasler, Edward Burtynsky, employees of NY Times, Getty Images, Aperture, Conde Nast, etc.

INTERNSHIP - Popular Science/Science Illustrated magazine with Photo Editor:
  • Intern to the Photo Editor (you're basically her assistant)
  • It pays $200 bi-weekly ($175.74 after taxes)
  • 6+ months (so recent graduate preferred)
  • In the summer she would like it to be 5 days a week if not at least twice a week like a Mon/Wed or Tues/Thurs from 10AM till roughly 5:30/6PM
  • Needs to start immediately mid-May or beginning of June
  • You will be dealing with various types of stock agencies and calling-in a lot of imagery for different features in the magazine as well as calling-in and returning equipment for shoots.
  • You must be organized because every image needs to have the correct metadata.
  • You will need to know how to use Photoshop, Bridge, Entourage, ftps, and some knowledge of InDesign and Illustrator.

email resumes to sophsu20@gmail.com with the job you are interested in in the subject line.
