Currently working for Loggerhead Productions, a film company based in Hope Town, Bahamas and primarily geared towards nature documentaries and conservation cinema.  One recent project was working with the National Audubon Society on tagging Piping Plovers, an endangered bird species that winters in the Bahamas. Some of her footage was used by PBS News hour.

In addition she has been doing freelance work including weddings, portraits, real estate and environmental portraiture for fishermen and others.

Exhibits nationally...6 shows this year alone!! Latest shows are in Indiana at the Lubeznik Center for the Arts, the Photo Review Web show and in June the Unbound 4 exhibition in the Candela Books and Gallery in Richmond VA.

Artists for Charity is an organization started by Abezash Tamerat Firke a SCAD graduate that supports a children's home in Addis Ababa Ethiopia for HIV positive kids who have lost their parents to AIDS. We have art auctions in New York, DC, and LA to raise money for the home and have started going out into the Addis community to help others with HIV. Many SCAD graduates and students donate art to our mission and we are very thankful for that, especially the photo department! www.artistsforcharity.org

Origin is centered on the transitional nature of motherhood.  Incorporating the passage of time, from springtime to winter and plump to wilted.  The work is a still life response to the tender, and sometimes sticky, experience of birth and caring for a family. Recurring botanical elements echo springtime and the vernal freshness of childhood, when all is to be experienced and explored. Objects are presented as offerings, like souvenirs or artifacts of an era, sometimes directly, sometimes as temporary sculptures to evoke a feeling rather than clear meaning.   The imagery is a vignette into domestic life and a window of time in motherhood.

SCAD Sand Arts Festival: it’s one for the bucket list. Spend the day on Tybee Island’s picturesque North Beach and watch in awe as elaborate creations rise from the sand. Enjoy the picture-perfect setting and cheer on your favorite SCAD artists. Just make sure to get there before the tide comes in!
