Tour SCAD MOA with Dean Bliss August 7

Jane Alexander - "Surveys (From The Cape of Good Hope)"

Join three faculty members as they provide gallery tours of three distinctive exhibitions at the SCAD Museum of Art.

Eun Lee, printmaking professor, will discuss the Andy Warhol exhibition,"Cast of Characters," as it relates to her practice as a printmaker. The selections of screenprints in this exhibition are among a number of works donated in 2014 to the SCAD Museum of Art by The Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts in New York.

SCAD dean of the School of Fine Art Steve Bliss will address his photographic process influenced by "Full Circle," an exhibition of work and inspiration by the late Savannah-based photographer Jack Leigh. Leigh was the creator of  the photograph for the cover of the book "Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil."

Additionally, painting professor Todd Schroeder will examine "Pirate Jenny," an exhibition by painter and writer Carrie Moyer as it relates to his painting practice. Influenced by her background in graphic design, feminism and queer activism, Moyer’s paintings intricately interweave concept, research and experience.

The program is free and open to the public. Museum galleries are open 5-8 p.m.

Make the SCAD Museum of Art your destination for art, cuisine and culture every Thursday evening. This summer we will offer beer, wine, coffee and snacks at TAD café (10 percent discount for members).
