We Are Seeking Regional Conference Proposals!
Please email your submissions for image-maker presentations, lectures, and short workshops (3 hours), demonstrations, regional graduate program presentations and student presentations to: southeast@spenational.org
Deadline July 1st, 2014
Proposals must include name and contact information of the proposer, working title, a short, (200 words or less), description of proposed presentation, and presenter's biography (150 words). 10 Images should be submitted when appropriate to topic proposal. Images should not be more than 800 pixels at the longest dimension. A URL can also be provided with required materials for presentation or workshop proposal.
If accepted, presenters are required to purchase 2014 SPE membership.

Our next regional SPE Conference will be held in Greenville, NC, on October 9th-12th, 2014!
SPESE 2014 "If You Build It…" will be hosted by East Carolina University.
We will be celebrating the constructed photographic image, and the role of process in image making. The creative process of making photographs will be explored through lectures, panels, and workshops featuring the talents and wisdom of accomplished regional and national artists, academics, and collectors. In addition, portfolio reviews, a raffle, and karaoke party will round out the weekend’s events. A gallery tour of Greenville will feature two world-class photographic exhibitions: "Image:Constructed::Constructed:Image", a national exhibition at ECU School of Art's Gray Gallery, curated by Angela Franks Wells, and a selection from the Allen Thomas Jr. Photography Collection, one of the most significant contemporary photo collections in the Southeast, at the Greenville Art Museum, curated by Daniel Kariko.

The southeast will be honoring educator Mary Ruth Moore, for her decades of teaching at the University of Georgia in Athens.
We also encourage you to send in nominations for the next regional chair by September 1st, 2014. The election will be held at the regional members meeting at the conference in October. Please send the name of the member you are nominating and their contact email.
