What's this all about?
SCAD Libraries, in collaboration with Art + Feminism, will host a Wikipedia edit-a-thon to increase the visibility of women in art and design disciplines, who are underrepresented on Wikipedia. SCAD students, staff and faculty of any gender are invited to contribute and help us bridge the gap.
Join us, at your SCAD location, for a day of Wikipedia training, editing, and knowledge building! We’ll provide the snacks and the tools to help you edit.
Please note: due to logistics, this event is only open to current SCAD students, staff, and faculty.
I want to contribute! What do I have to do?
Before the event, you'll want to complete the following steps to get registered, set up a Wikipedia account, and get an idea of the day's events.
- Look at our list of suggested women artists and article stubs.
What notable women in your fields of interest are missing or underrepresented in Wikipedia? (We've started with a few, but feel free to suggest more in the box to the right.)
Remember: Wikipedia-editing experience is not necessary! We'll provide training to help get you started.
