Design a Bookmark for SCAD Libraries!

The purpose of SCAD Libraries Student Art Contest is to provide a visible and professional venue for the talents of SCAD students while simultaneously promoting SCAD Libraries. This year, students are encouraged to submit designs for a full-color library bookmark, to be distributed at various campuses. Current SCAD undergraduate and graduate students in all locations and departments may participate. A panel of faculty and staff judges will determine the top three winners. | 2nd place | $150 gift card (or a $1200 octopus card in Hong Kong) |

Entry Rules
The winning design will be printed in full color (4/0, uncoated) on ONE side of the bookmark. Contest staff will list artist credits and basic library information on the opposite side of the bookmark -- so you do not need to incorporate this into in your design(s).
Bookmark designs must be:
- Related to SCAD Libraries in some way. Bear in mind the bookmark is shared by all locations, so should be universally appealing.
- Made by current SCAD students. Students in all departments and locations (Savannah, Atlanta, Hong Kong, Lacoste, and E-Learning) may participate.
- Original works, not previously used professionally or for class assignments. A student may submit up to three designs, but only one may be selected as a winning entry.
- Compliant with U.S. Copyright Law (see below)
- Press-ready: Received by Sunday, May 8, 11:59 PM.
- Submit all entries as TIF or PDF
- May be either portrait or landscape orientation
- Use our Photoshop template - click to download
- OR create your own: 2.5” x 7” rectangle; 350ppi, CMYK color, 1/8” bleed.
To submit your designs:
- Complete the entry form by clicking here "Entry Form"
- Email design(s) to: librarycontest@scad.edu
- OR burn design(s) to a CD or DVD and submit to the Jen Library Reference Desk in Savannah. Please print your full name and email on the CD/DVD

Copyright and Use of Designs
Copyright Notice
Entries are required to comply with U.S. Copyright Law. Students may use the Copyright Compliance Guidelines and the Copyright Compliance Policy in the SCAD Student Handbook (viewable on MySCAD) to learn more about copyright and its applications for this particular event. Students should remember that privileges which may apply to materials created for class do not apply to the SCAD Libraries Student Art Contest, as the winning designs will be visible to those outside of the SCAD community and therefore, outside of a classroom setting.
Use of Winning Designs
The winning bookmark design will be printed in an initial run of several thousand copies and distributed at various SCAD Libraries locations. The Libraries reserve the right to re-print the bookmark as needed. In addition, all three winning designs will be displayed online via SCAD and SCAD Libraries websites, social media outlets and other materials promoting SCAD and SCAD Libraries. Use of the winning designs is in accordance with the current SCAD Student Handbook’s “Rights to Use of Student Work”. By submitting your design, you acknowledge and accept these terms.
