Man Cave Design Challenge



Georgia Lottery Corporation – Design Challenge Spring 2016 SCAD Collaborative Learning Center

Overview:

SCAD will conduct a 2-day Design Challenge in which students will participate in teams to develop concepts for “Man Cave” shed makeovers, which will be featured during a Father’s Day social media promotion for the launch of a co-branded instant ticket with The Home Depot. Each participating team will have two or three members

Industry Segments:

• Tuff Shed – www.tuffshed.com

Students:

Challenge registration will be open for 20 (+/-) participating teams

It is required for students to register in teams of 2-3 people with only 1 interior designer per team

All SCAD Students can participate from undergraduate and graduate disciplines

All majors can compete and promotion will be focused on the following majors: interior

design, fibers, furniture design, motion media, painting, graphic design & industrial design.

Judging Criteria:

Research (is there a strong understanding of industry?)

Feasibility (can this actually be created?)

Aesthetics (is it pleasing to look at?)

Application (how will it apply to GLC’s needs?)

Originality (is this idea unique and innovative?)

Student Deliverables:

Storyboard Review (teams will share their initial concepts)

Final presentation (teams will present their final concepts for the Company’s review)

Deliverables of concepts and final campaigns.

Student Awards:

• 3 concepts will be chosen at a cash prize of $1,000
