You can either reserve studio bays, studio equipment, overnight checkout equipment, and Graham Scott inkjet lab stations by using the Parton Portal link below OR you can come in to the studio and checkout what you need on a first come first serve basis. Reservations must be set at least 4 hours in advance. Studio bays, studio equipment, and inkjet printing stations are available to checkout/reserve one time per day. Reservations cannot be set in the checkout room from the work-study on duty, you must reserve equipment and studio space using the patron portal link below. 


PLEASE WATCH THE INSTRUCTIONAL VIDEO AND READ RULES AND REGULATIONS LISTED BELOW BEFORE RESERVING EQUIPMENT. YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE TO KNOW ALL RULES BEFORE USING THE STUDIO AND CHECKING OUT OVERNIGHT EQUIPMENT.

STUDIO CHECKOUT:

1) You must be enrolled in a photography course and/or a Photography major or minor to checkout equipment. You must have taken or currently enrolled in a studio lighting course to use a studio bay and studio equipment.


2) You can either reserve studio bays ahead of time using the Patron Portal reservation system, OR you can come to the checkout center and checkout what you need on a first come first serve basis. You can only reserve/checkout equipment to be used for your own class assignment. You cannot reserve/checkout equipment for anyone besides yourself. 


3) All Models must be a current SCAD student, staff or faculty. No more than 5 individuals allowed per small bay and no more than 8 per large bay.


4) Each bay can be reserved at any time the studio is open with a maximum time limit of 5hrs. Make sure to add all the equipment you will need along with the bay. If you reserve only a bay without any equipment added, your reservation will be canceled. You will check in with the monitor on duty to pick up your bay reservation equipment. 


5) You must have your bay packed up and equipment dropped off to the return center no later than the end time of your Bay reservation or a late fee will be applied. You must clean your bay after use. This means throw away any trash and sweep if needed. The computer, cart and saw horses must be put back in an orderly fashion. All equipment must be returned in the same manner with which you checked it out including coiled cords, batteries removed and light stands/tripod legs tightened. If items are returned damaged you will be subject to a fee.


6) If you do not show up for your bay reservation within 30mins of the start time you

selected your reservation will be canceled and opened for other students to use. If you cannot make it to your studio reservation please cancel your reservation as soon as possible to free it up for other students. You can do this by going to the patron Portal link > Top left click "My Account" and there you will see any up-coming reservations and can hit "cancel"


7) All use of Photography Department equipment and facilities is limited to photography class assignment work only. Students are prohibited from using Photography Department equipment or facilities for commercial work or other paying jobs.


8) EQUIPMENT RESTRICTIONS:

Only one bay per student/per shoot/per day

Only one strobe kit per bay

Only one camera per bay

Must be enrolled in or have completed PHOT314 to use the medium format digital

cameras.



HOW TO SET A STUDIO RESERVATION VIDEO 















OVERNIGHT CHECKOUT:

1) You must be enrolled in a photography course and/or a Photography major or minor to use equipment from the Graham Scott photo checkout center.


2) You can either reserve overnight equipment ahead of time using the Patron Portal reservation system located on the blog (scadphoto.blogspot.com) OR you can come to the checkout center and checkout what you need on a first come first serve basis. You can only reserve/checkout equipment to be used for your own class assignment. You cannot reserve/checkout equipment for anyone besides yourself. 


3) Once you select the gear you need, set the pick-up time/date and return

time/date. Maximum 4 day checkout.


4) Equipment must be present at renewal and no more than (2) renewals in a row.


5) If your overnight reservation is not picked up within 2hrs or the pick-up time you

selected your reservation will be canceled.


6) You must have taken or currently enrolled in a studio light class to be able to check out the Profoto B1 strobes, or the Profoto Acute strobes.


7) You are responsible and liable for all equipment checked out. Understand you may be held financially responsible for lost or damaged property. Understand that failure to return equipment will be considered theft and may lead to replacement fees. If the equipment is lost or damaged, either intentionally or due to negligence, you may be subject to discipline and you may be responsible for the cost of repair or replacement.


8) Late Fee Policy : A $75.00 per day late fee is applied to any equipment that is not returned on time.


9) The use of Overnight checkout equipment is to be used for class assignments only. Equipment cannot be used for paying jobs.


10) 

Only one digital camera per checkout.

Only two Profoto B10X plus strobe kits per checkout

Only One Rokinon Video lens per checkout. (PHOT201 students only)

No more than two digital camera lenses per checkout.

Only equipment from the "Overnight checkout" list is allowed to leave the building.


*If you have any questions concerning your responsibilities, late fees, how equipment works, or where to turn the equipment in, be sure to ask before signing the equipment out. Please check all equipment thoroughly before leaving the building. You are responsible for all items checked out.
