Call for entry- Extended Deadline

Deadline: Thursday, March 29- Midnight

The annual Helen Levitt Photography Contest. I think the contest is a great opportunity for students as it results in a local exhibition of work and awards cash prizes. I helped convince the contest administrators to extend the deadline to midnight Thursday of this week because it originally fell during the SCAD break. It would be great If you could encourage your students to submit as it gives them experience with contests that is simple and local. It would be even greater if you could forward the link below to your classes. The Helen Levitt Contest is a wonderful resource for Savannah and SCAD Photo students and I'm hoping your students continued involvement will keep the exhibition fresh and engaging while ensuring it can occur annually.

Call for Submissions, Home
Aline Smithson, Juror

Home, domicile, a dwelling-place. We're looking for notions of home reinterpreted by the artist...a defining image that speaks to the idea of home, whether a memory, a marker, or a revelation. Color or BW, analog, digital or antique processes, photographers of all skill levels and locations are welcome.
Our juror for Home is Aline Smithson. After a career as a New York Fashion Editor and working alongside the greats of fashion photography, Aline Smithson discovered the family Rolleiflex and never looked back. An artist now represented by galleries in the U.S. and Europe and published throughout the world, Aline continues to create her award-winning photography with humor, compassion, and a 50-year-old camera.
