Alexander Hall, Room 136

Lab Hours

Monday-Friday
9:00 am - 4:00 pm

Film dropped by 9 AM will be ready by 4 PM.

Film dropped after 9 AM on Friday will be ready the following Monday by 4 PM.

Film pick-up is located in the Alexander Hall Cave.

C-41 Color Film Processing

C41 Film Processing is for Color C-41 Process film only.

Do not drop off Black and White film. Black and white film will be ruined if processed via C-41.

Film in by 9am will be ready same day by 4pm.

The Imaging Lab processes the following formats: 35mm / 120 / 220 / 4x5 / 8x10

The lab will not push/pull film.

If you drop off 4x5 and/or 8x10 film for processing, it is crucial that you correctly count the quantity of sheets included in your submission, and list the amount in the “quantity” box on the envelope. The sheets of film are added into the processing machine according to what is written on the form. Miscounting can cause errors in the machine.

Please do not put cardboard, paper packaging, or any type of bag inside of 4x5 and/or 8x10 film boxes. Only film sheets should be contained in the box.

Do not seal your 4x5 / 8x10 boxes with an excessive amount of tape. 1-2 small pieces of tape is sufficient.

Film pick up is located in the Alexander Hall CAVE

Updated Photo Printing Service

Highlights

  • The printing service is reserved for students registered for PHOT 113, 502, and 503.
  • You may print up to 11x14 - there will be a quarter-inch border already included.
    • We are not able to do bleed prints.
  • We use luster paper for all prints.

How Submissions Work

  • To submit work, there is a helpful photoshop template (download here) that allows you to simply copy and paste your photos and resize them up to 11x14 size.
    • Please note: the photoshop file is already formatted for our printing service, so you don’t need to do anything but add your photos.
    • If any of the file formatting is altered, we will not be able to print your images until it’s corrected.
  • Each template can hold four images, so if you have 12 images, you will need to prepare three (3) files to be submitted.
  • Once you have prepared you submission files, please place them in a folder (naming convention below) and upload them to your professor's OneDrive folder (link will be provided by your professor):
    • FirstName_LastName_StudentID_CourseNumber
    • Loose files (aka files not placed in a folder) will not be printed.

Turnaround Time & Print Pick Up

For Savannah-Based Students:

  • Files submitted by 9am on a business day will be ready for pick up by 4pm the following business day.
  • For example:
    • Files submitted by 9am on Monday will be ready for pick up by 4pm Tuesday.
    • Files submitted by 9am Friday will be ready for pick up by 4pm on Monday.
  • The 9am deadline is a firm deadline.
  • Print Pick up will be at the Cave during its regular hours.

For both:

  • There is no rush service, if files have not been received by the cut off, we will not fast track them.

Communication

  • No news is good news.
  • We will only reach out to you if there is an issue with your files.
  • In the event that there is a problem, we will also CC your professor on our communication so they are aware of any potential issues ahead of time.
  • We will NOT notify you when your prints are done, please check in at the Cave.

Recommendations

We encourage students to have their images in Adobe RGB 1998 and at a resolution of 300ppi to avoid any issues when submitting.
