Overview
The Clinical Photographer is responsible for maintaining, updating, creating, and uploading all clinic photographs into
the appropriate software. You will be responsible for taking photographs and/or videos of medical procedures,
before/after photos, and annual follow-up photos.

Responsibilities
1. The Clinical Photographer has the responsibility to carry out duties as directed by My Houston Surgeons.
2. Communicates on a regular basis with the designated My Houston Surgeons Supervisor(s).
3. Follows and always maintains patient confidentiality appropriate with HIPAA compliance standards.
4. Handle multiple projects at one time.
5. Produces quality and consistent digital images for all our cosmetic, medical, and research patients
6. Creates a patient's account in Mirror software indicating first/last name, chart number, type of treatment, and
whether consent was obtained.
7. Systematically maintains a database of photographs in Mirror software to be used for doctor/patient viewing, references materials, PowerPoint presentations, publications, internal training, before/after pictures for company website, sale to outside sources, internal brochures, posters, etc.
8. Maintains in-office photo resources (before and after books, website, social media platforms, and the like)
9. Maintains photography equipment in working order at all times. Schedule’s maintenance/repair calls as needed
10. Strong attention to detail – each photograph needs to be taken in a consistent manner (ie., headband, hairnet, clean face, no jewelry, and drape over chest area) every time. Continuity is key.
11. Working knowledge of medical terminology and HIPPA regulations
12. Nextech Software experience is desired
13. Medical photography software experience is required
14. Ability to handle challenging patients and situations in a professional, objective manner
15. Self-directed and able to work independently
16. Determines which patients need pre or post op pictures and for what procedure and coordinates with front office staff
17. Handle sensitive information in a highly confidential manner.
18. Alerts Supervisor and seeks assistance when an activity or process changes within the office or deviates from the current process.
19. Reply to email, telephone, or face to face inquiries.
20. Participates in annual competency training sessions as designated by My Houston Surgeons supervisor(s).
21. Other duties as assigned by My Houston Surgeons supervisors and physicians.
Secondary Job Duties &Responsibilities
1. Some tasks include filing, scanning, shredding, faxing, copying, mailing, data entry, etc as needed.
2. Ability to multitask while still maintaining a high level of proficiency and accuracy.
3. Ability to lift up to 30 pounds on a regular basis.
Education/Qualifications/Experience
Any combination of education and experience that would demonstrate a high level of proficiency and advanced
understanding of healthcare operations.
● High school diploma or equivalent; College degree/certification in Photography/Medical photography and/or
combination of education and medical experience is preferred
● 2+ years of related experience required in clinical photography role
● Knowledge of the medical industry, plastics specificity preferred
● Microsoft Office Skills – must be highly proficient in Word, Excel, Power Point, and Vizio
● Graphic design platform knowledge is a plus
