National Call to Artists: “Small Prints ’16”
A6 invites U.S. printmakers to submit work for our first biennial juried print exhibition, “Small Prints ’16.” A6 welcomes a wide range of printmaking processes and subject matter in small-scale prints (image area no larger than 4×6, paper size no larger than 8×10). Jurying will be done by the actual work. James Thompson, a printmaker and Professor of Art from Willamette University, will serve as juror.Download the entry form, prospectus and mailing labels.

ELIGIBILITY
This call is open to residents of the United States.Entries and payments must be received by May 30, 2016.
Artists may submit up to three original prints in any printmaking medium on any theme or subject matter. (Commercial prints and giclees are not acceptable.)
Artists may include up to four prints from each edition (to maximize the opportunity for sales).
The printed area must not exceed 4×6 inches.
The paper size must not exceed 8×10 inches.
ENTRY FEE
The entry fee is $25 US dollars.
Payment must be received by May 30, 2016.

PREPPING & PACKAGING
Sign each print and note both the print number and edition number (i.e. 1/5).Print your name (in pencil) on the back of each print.
Submit loose (unframed, unmatted) prints in plastic sleeves with binder holes.
Group prints of the same edition in the same sleeve.
Fill out a label for each individual print. Trim labels and insert into the corresponding sleeve with your prints. Do not tape or glue labels to the prints.
Complete the entry form and include it with your prints.
Cut two identical pieces of cardboard or matboard slightly larger than your plastic sleeves. Tape the sleeves to one board. Place the second board on top (sandwiching your prints inside). Tape both boards together. Mail in a large flat envelope. Use the shipping label provided, and include a return label in the envelope.
PRIZES, SALES & RETURNS
Best in Show Award
The winner of “Best in Show” will receive a two-week artist residency at Playa at Summer Lake. The residency will take place in 2017.Materials Prizes
The juror will award materials prizes for first, second, and third place. Prizes include:- $200 Gift Certificate to Gamblin Artists Colors
- $100 Gift Certificate to Solarplate
A6 will take a 40% commission on the price of all work sold. Please set your print prices accordingly.
A6 will issue checks for purchase awards and print sales. Payments will be mailed on or before September 15, 2016.
A6 will return all works (at our cost) via regular US post. A6 will not take responsibility for work lost in the mail.
Artists will be notified of the juror’s decision via email no later than June 15.
Artists with no work accepted will have their work returned immediately.
Artists with one or more pieces accepted for exhibition will have their work returned after the close of the exhibit.
EXHIBIT INFORMATION
“Small Prints ‘16” will open Friday, July 1 with a reception from 5-9 pm. The exhibit will run through August 25.The exhibit will be on display at A6 Studio & Gallery, 550 SW Industrial Way, Suite 180, Bend OR 97702. The A6 gallery is open Mon-Fri from 10-7 pm, Sat 10-6 pm and Sun 12-5 pm.
