MFA Thesis exhibition by Alan Orrison
Humankind seems to have an innate desire to commune with nature. Indeed, connecting with the natural world has been shown to be vital to our well-being. In an attempt to surround ourselves with elements of nature, we create imitations and counterfeits—but to what end? How far do these substitutes go in fulfilling our basic needs? And how do they measure up in contrast to the purity of the natural world?
