The SPE Student Awards for Innovations in Imaging
Awards are given annually to ten SPE student members to offset the cost of attending SPE's national conference based on merits of submitted portfolios.
Student award recipients receive a $550 travel stipend to attend the national conference, a conference fee waiver, and one-year membership to SPE.

Silver Eye Center for Photography announces a Call for Entries for Fellowship 16,
our international photography competition. Now in its 16th year, this
competition recognizes both rising talent and established photographers
from all corners of the globe and from the state of Pennsylvania.
Silver Eye staff and their relatives, board members, current interns, and past Fellowship winners are not eligibile to apply.
Submitted work may not have been previously exhibited at Silver Eye or in the Greater Pittsburgh region.
For the best image quality, image files must be no larger than 1,500 pixels wide, and saved as a .JPG size 8.

Jon Feinstein is the Co-Founder of Humble Arts Foundation and Strategic Partnerships Manager at Shutterstock. Humble Arts Foundation is a non-profit organization committed to promoting and supporting new photography and dedicated to the artistic and professional development of those who practice the medium. Jon has curated numerous exhibitions, including Radical Color at Newspace Center for Photography, Portland, OR; Another New York for Art-Bridge at The Barclays Arena, Brooklyn, NY; the internet-acclaimed New Cats in Art Photography; Aneta Bartos’ ‘Boys’ at the Carlton Arms Hotel, New York City; and 31 Women in Art Photography at Hasted Kraeutler, New York City. His various projects have been covered by The New York Times, BBC, Slate, Huffington Post, Hyperallergic, American Photo, Art Info, and FoxNews; and his writing has appeared in Time, Daylight, GOOD, and Whitewall Magazines. The exhibition is being held in conjunction with the Society for Photographic Education Southeast Regional Conference in Greenville, South Carolina.
Entry Deadline: September 4
Deadline for delivery of work: September 25

Location
The exhibition will be at the Clemson Center for Visual Arts-Greenville in the Clemson One Building, at 1 North Main Street in Greenville, SC. The Clemson One Building is the location of the conference. The exhibition is open to the public.

Eligibility
The exhibition is an OPEN CALL to all Members of SPE. There is no theme. The SPE Southeast organizing committee invites photographers working in all mediums and styles to take part in the exhibition. The deadline to send digital files for consideration is Friday September 4, at 5 pm. This exhibit is open to all SPE Members, and students, teachers and professional members are encouraged to apply. Please confirm that you are a Member and that your status is up-to-date. We invite photographers working in all mediums and styles to take part in the exhibition.

Requirements
Submit up to Six (6) JPEG images sized to be not longer than 1200 pixels in either dimension, with the resolution set to 72 ppi. The images must be named with the artist’s first initial, last name, and the number of the image ( example A_Peabody_01). As a guide, individual files should not exceed 2 megabytes. Using the save for web function in Photoshop is often useful in sizing images correctly.
Include an image list with the title, medium, date and size of the work. Also include your name and contact information, and a short Bio not to exceed 150 words.

Framed works should be no larger than 30x40 inches.
Work must be shipped to arrive on, or be delivered by September 25th. Artwork must be framed and prepared to hang with wire on the back of the frame. Directions on where to ship the work will be given to selected artists.
Return shipping must be included with the shipped submission. Artists are responsible for shipping to and from the exhibition. Artists are responsible for using packaging suitable for reuse for return shipping.
Considerations
Reproduction Rights
Each photographer retains all copyrights to his or her images. Photographers whose submissions are chosen for the exhibition grant the SPE and the Center for Visual Arts-Greenville the right to use their images for display on the web and for the purpose of promoting exhibitions, promoting SPE's and the CVA-G’s programs, and promoting the artist. Promotions and images may also be placed on social networks for SPE and CVA-G with artist credit. Artists grant the use of their image(s) as stated without further contact from SPE or CVA-G. The artist understands that SPE, the Clemson University Center for Visual Arts-Greenville, and the Clemson One Center will not be held responsible for loss, theft or other damage, whether caused by the negligence of its officers, members, or others.
Sales
The gallery takes a 30% commission on all sales. Prices submitted by the artist should reflect this commission. Please note if works are not for sale, works submitted for consideration do not need to be available for purchase.
Evaluation Criteria
Juror: Byron Wolfe
Byron Wolfe will be a keynote speaker at the SPE Southeast Regional Conference in Greenville, and the juror for our juried exhibition. Byron Wolfe’s photographs connect his interests in time, change, and place. His work is widely exhibited and collected. He has received a fellowship from the Guggenheim Foundation and is a recipient of the Santa Fe Prize for Photography. He is the author of Everyday: A Yearlong Photo Diary (Chronicle Books, 2007 and an Apple e-book, 2012), and a co-author of Yosemite in Time (Trinity University Press, 2005), and Third Views, Second Sights (Museum of New Mexico Press, 2004). Byron Wolfe is the Program Director for Photography at the Tyler School of Art Center for the Arts at Temple University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. His personal web site is byronwolfe.com. SPESE Conference Proposals
Dear Southeast members,
The deadline for regional conference proposal submissions has been extended through Thursday, August 6th.
The SPE regional conference is seeking presentation proposals for the November 6 – 8, 2015 conference in Greenville, SC. The southeast region welcomes proposals from photographers, writers, educators, curators, historians and professionals from any field.
SPESE 2015 Collaboration: Plays Well With Others will be hosted by The Fine Arts Center of Greenville SC. The conference will highlight artists whose work is developed in the spirit of collaboration. Hybrid media and practices, and creative intersections will be explored through lectures, panels, and workshops featuring regional and national artists, academics, and collectors.
It is preferred that presentation proposals should speak to the theme of collaboration. Proposed presentations can be for image-making, lectures, short workshops, and demonstrations. We also welcome regional graduate program presentations and student presentations. Presentations are limited to a maximum of 1 hour and workshops to 2 hours. Please remember that the conference will be in downtown Greenville and workshops and demos will not have the advantages of being held in studio classrooms.
Please email your proposal to spese15@gmail.com by August 6th, 2015. Each proposal must include:
· name of presenter or lead presenter for a group
· presenter or lead presenter contact information including email address and phone number
· A biography of each presenter (150 words maximum)
