Eligibility
All U.S. and international amateur and professional photographers, age 18 and older at the time of submission, may apply.Silver Eye staff and their relatives, board members, current interns, and past Fellowship winners are not eligibile to apply.
Juror: Jon Feinstein
Jon Feinstein is the Co-Founder of Humble Arts Foundation and Strategic Partnerships Manager at Shutterstock. Humble Arts Foundation is a non-profit organization committed to promoting and supporting new photography and dedicated to the artistic and professional development of those who practice the medium. Jon has curated numerous exhibitions, including Radical Color at Newspace Center for Photography, Portland, OR; Another New York for Art-Bridge at The Barclays Arena, Brooklyn, NY; the internet-acclaimed New Cats in Art Photography; Aneta Bartos’ ‘Boys’ at the Carlton Arms Hotel, New York City; and 31 Women in Art Photography at Hasted Kraeutler, New York City. His various projects have been covered by The New York Times, BBC, Slate, Huffington Post, Hyperallergic, American Photo, Art Info, and FoxNews; and his writing has appeared in Time, Daylight, GOOD, and Whitewall Magazines. Selection CriteriaAward recipients will be selected by the juror on the basis of exceptional, distinctive talent as evidenced by the strength of their submitted portfolios. The juror is especially interested in seeing portfolios with a strong narrative thrust and highly individual, original points of view. |
JuryingThere are two (2) rounds of evaluation. Winners will be notified via phone immediately following the decision of the juror. Non-selected photographers will be notified by email shortly thereafter. Decision of the juror are final and binding. |
What to Enter
The submission you are entering is comprised of three individual items:- A one-page Artist’s Statement in PDF format
- Your biography or CV in PDF format
- Your work sample
Submitted work may not have been previously exhibited at Silver Eye or in the Greater Pittsburgh region.
For the best image quality, image files must be no larger than 1,500 pixels wide, and saved as a .JPG size 8.
