Art Prize 2021

ArtPrize® is an open, independently organized international art competition which takes place in Grand Rapids, Michigan. It celebrates artists working in all mediums from anywhere in the world, and is open to any creative with an artwork to enter and a venue willing to host it.

For 18 days, art is exhibited throughout downtown Grand Rapids, in spaces indoors and out, public and private. ArtPrize awards $450,000 directly to artists, through grants (200k) to support their ambitious work and through prizes (250k) which the public decides through the ArtPrize mobile app.

ArtPrize is remarkably open and collaborative by design. Museums, bars, public parks, restaurants, theaters, hotels, bridges, laundromats, auto body shops, vacant storefronts and office spaces sign up to be ArtPrize venues. Then artists and venues find each other on our website, creating the nearly 200 independently-organized art shows that make up the ArtPrize competition—and attracting visitors from all around the world. No one at ArtPrize selects a single artist or artwork, directs an artist where to show work or directs a venue what to show. Instead, you decide where to show your work.
