Downtown Georgia photo contest

The 2012 Downtown Georgia photo contest
seeks photos of the state’s diverse historic
downtown buildings and streetscapes
by May 24, 2012 .


Entries will be judged by a panel of experts based on creativity, choice of subject matter, and composition. Color or black and white images are
acceptable. The top entry will receive an annual membership to the Georgia Trust for Historic Preservation and a copy of the photo-rich book
Madison: A Classic Southern Town .

Submitted photos must be taken in a historic downtown in the state of Georgia. While photos may contain people, emphasis should be placed on depicting historic buildings or sites. Many types of resources can be found in Georgia’s downtowns, including courthouses, schools, places of worship, commercial buildings, government buildings, squares, parks, and cemeteries.
Additionally, photos must:
-Be 1200x800 pixels at 300 ppi (pixels per inch) or larger.
-Be your original work, submitted with a Creative Commons license ( www.flickr.com/creativecommons/ )

Submit your photos to the contest Flickr group at www.flickr.com/groups/downtownGAcontest/ . To do so you must have a free Flickr account.
Alternatively, you may submit them via email to georgiashpo@yahoo.com , using the subject line "Contest submission." Submissions must be received by May 24, 2012 with the winners to be announced in the days that follow. Limit three submissions per photographer. Along with the photograph, please provide the following information:
-Photographer and hometown
-Photo location and description of the building or site depicted
