The National Park Service (NPS) was created over 100 years ago to preserve and protect America’s most significant natural and cultural resources. With over 40 programs, from National Historic Landmarks to National Trails, the National Park Service’s work extends beyond park boundaries. This year the National Historic Landmarks Program plans to highlight some of the special places in and around Savannah, GA, that are associated with NPS programs. We are sponsoring a photo contest to collect images of these places. The winning entries will be featured in our upcoming Discover Savannah Brochure.
We are searching for a photo that captures the essence of Savannah (not limited to the sites included in the contest) as well as images of each of the 13 sites included in the contest. For full contest rules, including the list of included sites, visit go.nps.gov/SavannahPhotos.

Fraction is now accepting submissions for our 9th Anniversary Issue which will premier on May 1st. If you're interested, please submit up to 3 images (800px wide, 72 dpi, sRGB, .jpg) directly to fractionsubmissions@gmail.com. The subject line should be "9th Anniversary Issue Submission" and please include your name and website in the email. Due to the number of submissions we can only respond to the artists that we will include. Thank you for understanding and we look forward to reviewing your images!

Study Trip to SCAD FASH Museum at SCAD Atlanta

The School of Communication Arts in collaboration with The School of Fashion have arranged for a trip to SCAD Fash Museum at SCAD Atlanta. This is a great opportunity to SCAD Savannah students to take a trip to explore SCAD FASH Museum of Fashion + Film at SCAD Atlanta. SCAD FASH Museum of Fashion + Film celebrates fashion as a universal language, garments as important conduits of identity, and film as an immersive and the exhibit of photographer Omar Victor Diop. "Project Diaspora" and "Shoes: Pleasure and Pain," an exhibition organized by the Victoria and Albert Museum, London, that explores the creativity, cultural significance and transformative power of shoes.

Bus coach fare and lunch provided free of charge to SCAD students. Bus departs from the SCAD Museum of Art at 6 a.m.

JUNIOR GIRLS BUSINESS START-UPS SAVANNAH

Excitement is stirring about our JUNIOR GIRLS BUSINESS START-UPS SAVANNAH! The goal of this program component is to awaken the entrepreneurial talents in the lives of the girls. The theme for this event is “WRITE THE VISION” and it takes place on Thursday, April 20th, 3:00PM-7:00PM, at Romano Macaroni Grill, Oglethorpe Mall and other Community Businesses. We are honored to have multi-millionaire Ron Williams and city councilwoman Dr. Estelle Shabazz as our guest speakers! Girls will participate in business enrichment activities, money management sessions, radio commercial designing, business plan development, and more. This is a free program for all girls, ages 7-14 years old.

VIATOR is a literary and art journal about spaces and places, broadly understood. Our current issue was published Winter 2017 and contains contributions from nearly 50 artists and writers from around the globe. We’re looking to build on the momentum generated from our first two issues!

Filter Photo, Call for Proposals

Filter Photo hosts an annual call for proposals for the exhibition calendar at Filter Space. We welcome photographic proposals of all types, whether traditional or experimental, or coming from and emerging curator or a veteran artist. Filter Photo hopes to attract a broad range of proposals that reflect the creative diversity of the contemporary photographic community.

Proposals will be accepted via our online system. Only proposals submitted in this manner will be considered. There is a submission fee of $25.00
