La Loba Festival is doing an open call for volunteers
---
Launching September 19th, 2022, La Loba Festival will be an annual week-long event held in Charlottesville, Virginia, with satellite events planned to take place across the country. Our mission is to provide an interdisciplinary space to ignite engaging dialogue around the power of the photograph and the importance of storytelling. Through artist conversations, panel discussions, exhibitions, and workshops, the festival explores the underlying elements of our human nature; unpacking why we tell stories and the impact of the visual narrative.
Our workshops will be directed toward local students to inspire the next generation of storytellers. Our photography exhibitions will be dynamic spaces that spark questions and conversation while raising funds to commission future artists. Finally, we plan to partner with universities and offer internships and scholarships to students representing underserved communities.
We are currently operating on our own time and dime and we’re looking for volunteers to help organize those efforts. Student volunteers could primarily participate in the curation and editing of The LLF Journal, our digital publication. They also could be participating in fundraising efforts, social media or marketing campaigns.
