Photography Coordinator

JOB TITLE: Photography Coordinator
DEPARTMENT: Media Resources
REPORTS TO: Manager of Media Resources
SUMMARY: Under the supervision of the Manager of Media Resources, the Media Resources Photography Coordinator is a liaison between Photo and Support Services, ensuring that the Photo Department’s needs are met. This position informs and advises the Manager of Media Resources. This position also provides oversight of the equipment room itself and provides supplemental support to Print Services as needed.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
•    Responsible for Media Resource Center reservations through Web Checkout system
•    Prepares reserved equipment and media resources for faculty, staff and students
•    Assesses equipment repairs, and assigns repairs to staff accordingly
•    Trains student workers and manages their daily workflow, including managing the work-study calendar, assists in hiring new work-study staff, and creates bi-weekly time-cards
•    Trend spots industry developments and provides recommendations on new equipment acquisitions
•    Assists in the development of policies and procedures pertaining to equipment and lending
•    Maintains photography equipment inventories, supplies, and functionality, including the repair, maintenance and installation of darkrooms and color processing equipment.
•    Assists in repair and maintenance for Digital Photography Labs and digital printing equipment
•    Assists Print Services with output when needed
•    Maintains expertise in equipment specific to production and post-production software for Photography
•    Maintains a working knowledge of Film, Audio and Computing software

Education & Experience:
•    A bachelors in Photography, and three to five years of professional experience. Some teaching experience is preferred.
•    Strong verbal, written and interpersonal skills.
•    Some experience in mentoring or teaching students.
•    Experience with Mac operating systems
•    Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
•    Expertise in digital printing
•    Thorough knowledge of software used in photo editing
