Samsung Designer Day Presentation and Workshops

An exciting workshop day is planned for May 25^th, and fine artists are invited to participate. Representatives from Samsung are looking to speak to SCAD students about creating applications and themes for their smart watches and android applications.

No coding experience is necessary. They'll be discussing how to use Samsung theme editors.

This Samsung Designer Day is open to students of all years and majors, and will allow them to get involved in the Samsung app marketplace. This event is a great follow-up to the creative entrepreneurial forum, as they'll be talking about how to create themes for digital Samsung products as well as how to best connect with potential customers  using the Samsung app marketplace.

Samsung Designer Day Presentation and Workshops

SCAD Museum Theater

Learn how Samsung Designer Tools empower designers of all disciplines to create content for some of the most innovative mobile tech on the market. Attend this presentation and a hands-on workshop from Samsung technology evangelists to learn about creating themes and UI for Android applications and Samsung Gear Watches. 

No coding experience is necessary. The presentation and workshops are open to all interested students.

Presentation: 9:15am-Noon

SCAD Museum Theater

Open to all SCAD students

Coffee and light refreshments will be available starting at 8:45am.

Lunch and refreshments will be provided for workshop participants starting at noon.

Hands-on workshops: 1-4pm

SCAD Museum classrooms

Workshops space is limited, please RSVP for group 1 or 2 via the SCAD Job Portal Events > Workshops.

Both workshop groups will contain identical content. The workshop will be presented in two parts:

Samsung Themes Editor (1:00 - 2:30pm)
The Samsung Mobile Theme Editor is an exclusive tool for Android theme development. Themes are skins that customize the device UI and are created without coding. In this workshop you will get an introduction to Samsung Mobile UI Themes. You will learn how to use the Samsung Theme Editor Tool to create custom mobile device UI themes that allow consumers to personalize their Samsung Galaxy device. We will also share market trends about theme users.

Gear Watch Designer (2:30 - 4:00pm)
Using the Samsung Gear Watch Designer Tool, this hands-on workshop will cover all the basics for creating a Watch Face app for Samsung Gear watch. You will learn how to design and develop your own Gear watch faces without the complexity of code scripting. We will also share market trends about gear users. 

- Space is limited and students must RSVP on the SCAD Job Portal.

- Students must bring a laptop (mac or pc) to participate in the workshop
