SCAD Museum of Fine Art, Savannah, 7pmSCAD presents an evening with percussionist and vocalist Madame Gandhi, the stage name of Los Angeles-based musician, feminist activist and music industry thinker Kiran Gandhi. In this performance, Gandhi speaks about atomic living, owning one's own voice and what "the future is female" means to her, followed by an intimate concert featuring songs she has never before played live.
With the release of her EP, "Voices," in 2016, Gandhi now works with sound designer Alexia Riner to create electronic music that elevates and celebrates the female voice. She is known for seamlessly merging her passions for business, feminism, and music to elevate and celebrate the female voice.
Gandhi earned a degree in mathematics from Georgetown University and an M.B.A. from Harvard and has toured professionally, drumming for M.I.A. and Thievery Corporation. She advises music companies Spotify, Stems, Bonnaroo and D’Addario. This event is free and open to the public.
This event is part of deFINE ART 2017, held Feb. 21–24 at SCAD locations in Savannah and Atlanta, Georgia, and Hong Kong. DeFINE ART is an annual program of exhibitions, lectures, performances and public events that highlights emerging and established artists and visionaries.
