Photography Needs for NAIA Women’s Golf National Championships:
This is the schedule and photography needs for the women’s golf national championships May 16-20 per our agreement with the NAIA.
Monday May 16: This is the practice round at Savannah Quarters from 8:30-3. During the practice round we need to take the team pictures of all the teams competing in the tournament. Last year we set up near the 18th hole so it was close to the clubhouse and near shade. During that time we will also be doing a Champions of Character event at the golf course, which will feature a representative from every team.
Monday May 16: That night is the NAIA women’s golf banquet, the banquet will take place at 7 p.m., at the Embassy Suites in Downtown Savannah off MLK. At the banquet the NAIA will be handing out several awards that we will need to have pictures of. Also, in the event of a rainout during the practice this is the alternative for team pictures.
Tuesday and Wednesday May 17-18: These are the first two rounds of the tournament. The tournament is broken up into two sessions a morning session and an afternoon session, with the teams that play the morning session on Tuesday will play in the afternoon session on Wednesday and vice versa. We need to cover all of the teams at least once during these days. We can either shoot all day Tuesday or split it up and cover just the morning group on both days. The morning session begins at 7:30 a.m. should wrap up around 2.
Thursday May 19: The third round will be reseeded with the better teams playing in the afternoon. I would recommend coming in the afternoon like 12-4 and getting pictures of the teams on the course. This would be a good opportunity to get extra picture of the SCAD players as well.
Friday May 20: The field is cut down so there is only one session in the morning with the teams starting to tee off at 7:30 a.m. The top three teams will be paired together and should to tee off around 9:05. We need to get pictures of the teams that are in contention. I will let the photographer know which teams they are and they’ll be teeing off hole 1. At the conclusion of the final round, we will be having the award presentation and we’ll need to have pictures of all the awards that are handed out. The event should be over around 4:30 p.m. on that Friday.
Like last year we will need to make all the pictures available to be purchased after the event.
