New Delta Review is now accepting submissions for the second annual Ryan R. Gibbs Award for Photography. For this contest, New Delta Review seeks a series of 10 photographs that will serve as the online cover pages for our journal’s winter issue. Together, the photographs should tell a story, or be centered on a unified theme of the artist’s choosing. This contest goes hand-in-hand with our short fiction contest, which seeks a full narrative in 1500 words or less.

Entry Fee: $10About the judge: Jesse Morgan Barnett is a Dallas based artist who received his M.F.A. from the University of Texas at Arlington. His work has been exhibited in the United States, Europe, and Asia, and featured in publications such as Adbusters, Flash Forward, and Semigloss. Barnett co-founded the Dallas Biennial and is a member of the collaborative group Dick Higgins. His work attempts to revalue wandering, anniversaries, boredom and mourning. *All entries must be previously unpublished and original work of the entrant.
*Send only high quality med-res JPG files (no larger than 4MB).
*Send a series of 10 photographs.

*Submissions will first be reviewed by our Art Director, and finalists will be passed on for judging.
*Family, friends, and previous students of the judge are ineligible for participation in the contest. In addition, students currently enrolled at Louisiana State University and faculty members at Louisiana State University are ineligible for participation in this contest.
About the contest: This award is in honor of Ryan R. Gibbs (1981-2012), a gifted editor for New Delta Review, an incredible writer of fiction and screenplays, a talented photographer, and, above all, a dear friend. New Delta Review is honored to host this annual award in his honor, made possible by a generous endowment from his parents.
