B&H Photo is calling for submissions from photo schools around the country for the next issue of the Student Buyer's Guide (SBG).DEADLINE: Friday, May 16, 2009, 12:00 noon
In the back of the book, we feature a student photo in a bit called "Behind the Shot".
In addition, the student writes a quick blurb about how the image was captured, and shot specs.
It's a great opportunity for student exposure. The SBG has a print run of around 10,000. There's no compensation, other than publicity trade out. We feature the student's work, plug the school and the student's website.
Ideally, we're looking for something narrative. How was this image captured? By chance? Is there a quirky or odd story behind or in front of the image? Feel free to also surprise us, and throw in a curve ball
that you think might "fit".
As far as what's off limits - nudity. B&H is a fairly conservative organization, so the art director requested something family friendly.
