Celebrate the SCAD Museum of Art opening of 'i feel ya'
July 17, 6-8 p.m.
Join us for a reception to celebrate the opening of “i feel ya: SCAD + André 3000 Benjamin.” Making its SCAD Museum of Art debut, “i feel ya” presents fashion, film and painting through the eyes of three dynamic artists: multihyphenate performer André 3000 Benjamin, filmmaker Greg Brunkalla (B.F.A. video/film) and painter Jimmy O’Neal (B.F.A. illustration).
This exhibition is curated by Laurie Ann Farrell, SCAD executive director of exhibitions.
The reception is free and open to the public; the first hour of the reception is limited to SCAD Museum of Art members.
Daily admission to the exhibition is free for all SCAD Card holders and museum members. The exhibition is open to the public with the cost of museum admission.

Professor Jaclyn Cori Norman and SCAD Photography Alumni Wesley Corn (MA 2015), Steffanie Halley (MFA 2008), and Melinda Hurst Frye (MFA 2006) have work included in the "Family Matters" juried exhibition at PhotoPlace Gallery in Middlebury, VT. SCAD Alumna Ann Jastrab (MFA 1995)served as juror. Jastrab is Gallery Director at Rayko Photo Center in San Francisco.

SCAD MFA Candidate Alina Bliach to be Interviewed on Univision TV

On July 4th, Univision TV journalist Victor J. Solano will interview SCAD elearning MFA candidate and Cuban-American,Alina Bliach to discuss her exhibition and book project "A Voyage of Many." For this series of environmental portraits, Bliach photographed Cuban-Americans who have emigrated to the United States in various waves: the children of the Peter Pan flights, the people of Camarioca, the Freedom Flights, the Mariel Boatlift, the people known as the Balceros, and the Immigration Visa Lottery winners.
The segment will appear during Aca Entre Nos, during the 11 o'clock pm news program Noticias 41. After the fireworks, tune in and celebrate the work of a fellow SCAD student and the resilient people she photographed.

Klompching Gallery’s Annual Summer Show

“FRESH is the annual summer show produced and presented by the eponymous KLOMPCHING GALLERY. This year, FRESH is partnering with two innovative media enterprises: BLINK magazine and AT LENGTH online.
In 2015, FRESH will crossover from the wall to the page to the internet, reflecting the three ways in which photography is displayed, published and disseminated. It’s also gone global and is inviting submissions from photographers worldwide.

THE WALL: Three to five photographers will be selected for a four-week exhibition, giving each artist the opportunity to show their work at the KLOMPCHING GALLERY in New York City, a highly regarded gallery for contemporary fine art photography.
THE PAGE: The exhibited photographers will be published in a feature in BLINK magazine, the acclaimed “go-to” magazine for contemporary photography, selected in 2012 as a “Tastemaker” by PDN (Photo District News).
THE INTERNET: The exhibited photographers will be interviewed in a special feature on At Length, the online culture magazine.
ADDITIONALLY: Ten additional photographers will be selected for the KLOMPCHING GALLERY’s “FRESH ONLINE SHOWCASE.”
