All On Paper, a Fine Arts club at SCAD Savannah, is hosting a juried
exhibition called, "Ubiquitous Forms." Ubiquitous meaning, "existing or
being everywhere at the same time."
We are looking for student and faculty submissions encompassing all disciplines!
All form of 2-D and 3-D physical art is accepted.
Entry fee is $15/unlimited entries.
Drop off (with entry fee) is at Wallin Hall in Room 201, Monday - Thursday from 2 - 8 p.m.
Deadline for submissions is February 16, 2015.

Monica Merva at Pinnacle Gallery Opening - January 22nd 6PM
Monika Merva is an award-winning, New York-based photographer who is most inspired by the people and landscapes that surround her. A SCAD alumna (M.F.A., photography, 1998), Merva has enjoyed an illustrious career that has included group and solo exhibitions around the world. Her work is featured in such major public collections as the Brooklyn Museum, New York; the George Eastman House, Rochester, New York; and The Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, Texas.
In the "Origins of Emotions" series, Merva depicts people, nature and still lifes that offer viewers quiet and intimate moments of contemplation. Seeking to preserve memories of loved ones and moments, she searches, in her own words, for "beauty in the ordinary — surprises in the commonplace." Through February 6th.

We are happy to announce that the School of Fashion and the United Student Forum are hosting the first ever Senior Collaboration Night!
USF acts a liaison between administration and students.
There is great potential for collaboration at SCAD especially within the Design, Fashion, and Fine Arts schools. Based on recent work, flourishing collaborations have emerged between the School of Communication, School of Fashion, and Digital Media departments. So we are excited to host this event in such a spirit.
At this event all fashion/accessories seniors will have the opportunity to display their senior work. They are seeking juniors and seniors from the invited majors to attend in the hopes of forming creative teams, as they look ahead to producing and showing their senior collections in spring.
We would be thrilled if you would encourage your photography junior and senior students to attend. And forward this message to the appropriate faculty.

Apply now!Photography Now 2015, the Center for Photography at Woodstock’s annual call for entries. Eight to ten photographers will be selected to be featured in the group exhibition in CPW’s gallery from April 18 – June 14, 2015.
This year CPW has invited David Bram, founder and curator of Fraction Magazine to select the winning entries!
Additionally one photographer will be selected for the Directors’ Purchase Prize in which a print is purchased for CPW‘s Permanent Print Collection, and each selected photographer will also receive a complimentary portfolio review on eyeist.com.
JUROR
David Bram is the editor, founder, and curator of Fraction Magazine, an online venue dedicated to fine art and contemporary photography. Fraction Magazine brings together diverse bodies of work by established and emerging artists from around the globe. Fraction Magazine was founded in 2008, is published on a monthly basis, and has shown portfolios from more than 300 photographers. David is also the co-creator of Flash Powder Projects. Through workshops and invite-only retreats, Flash Powder Projects gives photographers valuable knowledge and guidance on how to move their careers forward, establish goals for their work, and develop plans to launch photographic projects.
David Bram has reviewed portfolios at over 20 national events including Review Santa Fe, Fotofest, PhotoLucida, PhotoNOLA, Atlanta Celebrates Photography, Medium, and Filter. He was a juror for Review Santa Fe in 2010 as well as a frequent juror for Critical Mass. He was a reviewer at Fotofest Moscow in August 2011 and a curator at the Lishui Photography Festival in China in November 2011. In September 2010, David was the recipient of the Griffin Museum of Photography’s Rising Star Award.
ELIGIBILITY
CPW’s annual Photography Now exhibition celebrates the plurality of photography. From traditional to digital, all photographic techniques and approaches are welcome. Straight photography, fine art, narrative, documentary, landscape, social issues, still life, mixed media incorporating photography, photographic installations, and digital imaging and collages – are all eligible!
EXHIBITION
Selected artists will have their work exhibited in CPW’s gallery from April 18 – June 14, 2015.
PURCHASE PRIZE
One print by a photographer from the exhibition will be chosen and purchased for CPW’s Permanent Print Collection, held at the Samuel Dorsky Museum of Art at SUNY New Paltz. CPW’s Collection holds over 1,750 works of art by such program artists as Larry Fink, Robert Heiniken, David Maisel, Mary Ellen Mark, Lilo Raymond, and Steven Shore, amongst others!
Past Purchase Prize recipients include Lucas Foglia, Thomas Jackson, Ilona Szwarc, among others.

Results will be announced on March 2, 2015. Selected participants will be given instructions on how, when, and what to send for exhibition.

DESCRIPTIONIt’s that time of year again! RayKo’s plastic camera competition is open to artists working with plastic cameras with plastic lenses. The more obsolete, flawed, and lo-tech, the better. Images should be taken with cameras with limited controls, such as, but not limited to Diana, Holga, Lubitel, Lomo, Banner, and Ansco cameras. Beautiful prints from less-than-gorgeous cameras – that’s what we’re looking for! This is RayKo’s largest exhibition of the year with artists from all over the globe submitting work! Ann Jastrab is currently the Gallery Director at RayKo Photo Center. Call for Entries
Recent BFAs, current MFA candidates, and recent MFAs are encouraged to submit work to the Vermont Center for Photography's 30 Under 30 exhibition. The juror is SCAD MFA alumna, Greer Muldowney. For more information:
Bea Nettles Lecture & Book Signing: Thursday, Jan 8, 5pm, SCAD Museum Theater
In "Time and Place: Images by Bea Nettles," SCAD visiting artist Bea Nettles will discuss how the medium of photography is uniquely able to reveal the passage of time and a sense of place. She will share several book projects that address these themes including "Turning 50," "Seasonal Turns," "Stonecipher," "Return Trips" and "Place."

Nettles has been exhibiting and publishing her autobiographical works since 1970. She has held more than 50 one-person exhibitions at major art spaces including the George Eastman House International Museum of Photography and Film in Rochester, New York, the Museum of Contemporary Photography in Chicago, and Light Gallery and Witkin Gallery in New York City. Her work has also been shown internationally in major group exhibitions.
Nettles' images are featured in collections at The Museum of Modern Art, The Metropolitan Museum of Art, the National Gallery of Canada, the International Polaroid Collection, the Phillips Collection, George Eastman House International Museum of Photography and Film , and the Center for Creative Photography. Her artists' books can be found in special collections libraries at museums and universities including Yale University, University of Washington and University of Virginia.
Nettles taught photography and artist's bookmaking from 1970-2007 at Rochester Institute of Technology, Tyler School of Art and the University of Illinois where she is professor emerita.
