DESCRIPTION
RayKo Photo Center will be hosting an exhibition of documentary work in both our main gallery and side gallery. This is an open call for photographic work exploring the genres of street photography, photojournalism and the social documentary. We're looking for powerful visual storytelling about anyone, anywhere and anything. Surprise us.
PRIZES
Best of Show - $500 cash prize plus the winning photographer and photographic essay will be published on ViewFind.com. There are also 4 honorable mention juror awards. All winning images will be exhibited in our San Francisco gallery.
JURORS:  Judy Walgren & Ann Jastrab
JudyWalgren
is the Editorial Director for ViewFind, a robust visual storytelling platform. Previously, she was the Director of Photography at the San Francisco Chronicle, where she managed a staff of visual content producers, photo editors and pre-press imagers for print and digital platforms. She has also worked for the Denver Post, The Rocky Mountain News and the Dallas Morning News. Walgren received a Pulitzer Prize for International Reporting with a team from the Morning New for their series dealing with violent human rights against women. She received her Masters in Fine Art from the Vermont College of Fine Arts in January 2016. Walgren lives in San Francisco.
Ann Jastrab is the Gallery Director at RayKo Photo Center. The RayKo Gallery offers over 1600 square feet of exhibition space and presents eight to ten shows annually featuring many nationally and internationally recognized artists. Ann regularly participates as a curator, juror, and reviewer for a multitude of organizations: the SF Arts Commission, the Academy of Art in SF, Artspan, SFAI, the Center for Fine Art Photography, the Savannah College of Art and Design, the Seoul International Photography Festival in Korea, Fotofest, Photolucida, GuatePhoto, Review Santa Fe, Review LA, PhotoAlliance (Our World), SPE, Medium, Palm Springs Photo Festival, Filter, Lishui International Photography Festival in China, and Critical Mass. She has also been teaching courses at the Maine Media Workshops (formerly the Maine Photographic Workshops) in Rockport, Maine since 1994.
ENTRY GUIDELINES
Deadline for Submissions:  June 29, 2016

Entry Fee:  $30 (up to 3 images); $5 for each additional image
All entries must be jpegs, not bigger than 3MB, longest side sized to 1280 pixels
Save files with artist's last name, first name, and image title, for example:  Smith_Jane_Pigeons01.jpg
Any work deemed misrepresented by its digital file will be declined
Online submissions accepted only via Lensculture

NOTIFICATION
Notification of juried results will be mailed or emailed on July 3, 2016
SUBMISSION OF ACCEPTED WORK
Accepted artists will be invited to send or deliver actual work.  All work must be framed or mounted with a wire affixed and ready to hang.  NO SAWTOOTH HANGERS.  Entries are handled with great care, however, RayKo assumes no liability for work on its premises.  All selected works must be for sale.  RayKo retains 40% commission on all photographs sold, so price accordingly. Selected images may be used for promotion of the exhibition.
ELIGIBILITY
All work must be original. Works previously shown at RayKo are not eligible. The juried exhibition is open to all photographers, national and international.
